Custom Baptism Pillow, Personalized Pillow, Parable of the Pillowcase, LDS Baptism Gift

Ask a question

I started to make these pillows for my primary class when they were baptized. They LOVED them and they were so excited to get them. Years later, they will tell me that they still have it and it is on their bed. A younger sibling will get one, and they are also very excited since remember seeing one on their older sibling's bed.

This pillow is completely personalized to include their name, baptism date, scripture and/or note. Each pillow is unique and custom made. You tell me what color and the type embellishments, if any. If you want to be involved in the design process, please tell me and I will send you options for fabric and embellishments to choose from.

The pillow will also come with a card that includes The Parable of the Pillowcase (text is below) which is a great comparison to how repentance allows you to become clean like washing your pillowcase.

Prior to making, I will send you a proof of the image that will be sewn onto the pillow, where you can ensure all the text is correct.

You can include any scripture. Below are some commonly used:
2 Nephi 31:5 - And now, if the Lamb of God, he being holy, should have need to be baptized by water, to fulfil all righteousness, O then, how much more need have we, being unholy, to be baptized, yea, even by water!
2 Nephi 31:12 - And also, the voice of the Son came unto me, saying: He that is baptized in my name, to him will the Father give the Holy Ghost, like unto me; wherefore, follow me, and do the things which ye have seen me do.
2 Nephi 9:23 - And he commandeth all men that they must repent, and be baptized in his name, having perfect faith in the Holy One of Israel, or they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God.
3 Nephi 12:2 - And again, more blessed are they who shall believe in your words because that ye shall testify that ye have seen me, and that ye know that I am. Yea, blessed are they who shall believe in your words, and come down into the depths of humility and be baptized, for they shall be visited with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and shall receive a remission of their sins
Mosiah 10:18 - For this very cause has king Laman, by his cunning, and lying craftiness, and his fair promises, deceived me, that I have brought this my people up into this land, that they may destroy them; yea, and we have suffered these many years in the land.
Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
John 3:5 - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Text for The Parable of the Pillowcase:

A pillowcase really may seem quite plain;
But they hold wisdom. Let me explain.
It's made of cloth and woven quite tight.
The pillowcase helps you sleep through the night.
But over the days it will become stained.
By crayons. Or juice. Or tears cried in pain.
No need to fear! Remove that dirty case.
Wash in the laundry and use all your days!
Now you've just turned eight. You really are bright.
You help friends and family. You obey and choose the right!
You choose to be baptized and then are confirmed.
The testimony inside your heart starts to burn.
But there will be times when you're tempted so strong!
You'll make a mistake. You'll choose to do wrong.
No need to fear! There is a way
to gain the same peace felt on your baptism day.
It's called repentance and it's a gift from our Father.
YOU can be washed clean...without any water.
The steps of repentance will help you along:
Feel sorry, ask forgiveness, and then 'right the wrong'.
Then YOU, like your pillowcase, will be as good as new!
You both are made clean and bright again, too!
More sins and temptations you surely will meet;
Use the power of repentance...wash, rinse, repent!
Tonight, on you pillowcase, lay your head down to rest.
And remember: Always try your very best!
